All of my browers stop working sporadically

I currently have Firefox, IE, and opera. About a month ago my computer started acting up with a virus which I was able to get rid of (but maybe not completely) This virus caused an unrelated problem. Now the problem that I am having is that all of my browsers will stop working sporadically. When the browsers stop working, I am still able to use chat programs (AIM, MSN, Skype etc) with no problem. The only way that I can get the browsers to start working again is to do a hard shut down (I can't reset or do a soft shut down through the start menu). I have also found that if I run the computer in safe mode with networking the problem does not appear at all, and I am able to be online all day. I currently have windows vista 64.

 

Sounds like its still infected with bad stuff I would run Malwarebytes' anti-malware
