if i run age of empires (expansion/normal/trial) the screen goes black and stops responding, the game itself is ok as i networked it to another pc and it ran fine, i
then installed it on to the second pc and then run it of the the first pc but once again it crashed, i have tried all the command line entires, my pc did run it fine lastnight but not to day and because i'm using 98 i can't do a system restore

If you mean how did I find that page...I typed www.ageofempires.com in the address bar and hit the Enter key to see if there was such a page. There was.

Then I clicked on the link to Age Of Empires, then clicked on the link to Support, then clicked on the link to "Select a Product Solution Center," then clicked on the link to Games, then clicked on the link to Age of Empires under the subheading, "Microsoft Games Frequently Asked Questions" and there it was.
