    hi.
First of all I am not sure if I m posting it in rite section or not as the problem started after upgrading my Hard Drive so I tried to post it here.
I am having this slow down issue after I upgraded my hard dirve from 80 G to 400 G.
It slows down specialy when there is a flash player ON or if more than 2 web pages are open I dont know what is the problem ,some one told me to try Fire Fox instead of internet explorer, it didnt help, and some one else told me to install windows 7 it would help I installed windows 7 it became worse than before.now I am back with windows XP better than Windows 7 but getting this slow down problem.

How big is the HD partitioned to?

What kind of Internet connection do you have?

Is this only with flash stuff and is just regular surfing OK? You sure you have the latest Version of Flash from Adobe?

    Do this first:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

    Do this second:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Some system specs would be nice also. Go to USER CP near the top left and fill out you Specs on the PC.

the HD is partitioned only to 400 G I have only one partition ...C drive is 400 GB.
    I have DSL connection.
yes with the flush stuff the most ,normal surfing is OK unless if there are more than 2 websites are open, then it starts the problem ,but not as bad as it does with flush stuff.
yes I had the latest version of flash (as I reinstalled XP last week the flush was newly downloaded ),but still I did what you recommanded .
system specs were already filled out...I dont know if there is something missing I checked it 3 times noting was left to fill in those boxes...

Usually the System Specs show up like mine do under the box with my name.
Wasn't sure if you had put the old HD back in with XP on it or what. Have you tried the old HD with Win 7 on it on a Clean install?

well,I had XP in my old HD (80 G) I took it out and installed the new HD (400 G ) installed XP into it,I noticed that flash Player was giving problem ,but I ignored it for a while ,I thought it would be some maleware and stuff I didnt clean up on my pc but wasnt anything in the system no virus no maleware...then someone suggested firefox I tried firefox too ,no change...
well, the windows 7 which I installed was on top of XP,XP was in the HD I didnt do any clean install yet,I dont have the old HD with me anymore gifted to some one...

I would try a clean install and at least partition that big a HD down to something smaller. Maybe 100gig for the system and the rest for what ever else. You could try making it like 4 - 100gig partitions on it.

    Hello MrBill.
Sorry for late replay actually I did the clean install and 4 partitions things but windows 7 seemed to give me more problems than XP .beside that lots of drivers were not supported by windows 7 ....so I jumped back to the WIN XP ,because at least I can move my courser with xp ,window7 was going stuck for 2 or 3 minutes ....and a complete slow down.
well, back to xp with 3 partitions on HD. still the same problem ....video on on youtube plays in sequences or any other program related to flash decrease the speed.
someone told me its because my video cards are too old ,could it be?

Could be, but don't think so. I have a machine that came with 98 on it in 2000 and then I upgraded the to XP and have no problems with all the same hardware. Just added a little more ram for XP and all went well. Not sure why it does what it does. You may want to try an older version of Flash and see if it does the same thing. Of course these won't be as secure as the newest version. And really, nothing is really greatly secure for the past few years. Build something and before the ink dries or the last nail is in, somebody is fooling with it. :)

Figured that you might be asked to upgrade. Just wanted to see if there was any difference in an older version.
Back to the drawing board I guess. Maybe somebody else will chime in.
