After axfreepron cannot browse internet

This is my first post but not my first time on this site. Usually I just read the posts but this time I need more help.

I also got this Axfreeporn dialer. I used AVG and it found a whole set of infections and got rid of them. I used FindAWF to find and replace the backed up files. Then I used Atf-Cleaner. I then deleted the connection in the connect to. I noticed there was an option in the tools menu of internet explorer. I clicked it and it opened firefox so I immediately closed it. The option was a set of funny characters. These same characters were the name of an add-on in IE, which I did disable but no scan detects it. The problem now is that I cannot browse the internet or connect to MSN or update my anti-viruses either by dial up or by DSL. Can anyone help?

Also I am unable to ping my local IP Address. I can ping the loopback address though. I can ping websites by name and my router by IP. I also used netsh winsock reset catalog to no avail.

Hello and welcome to WindowsBBS Removing Spyware & Viruses forum.

I see you're running the new Trend Micro HijackThis! beta version. We in the forums prefer at this time not to use it, until they have ironed out all the wrinkles, so would you please download the older version, 1.99.1 and run a new log.

Please download HijackThis! SetUp from here. Save the file to your desktop.

Double-click the HijackThis! SetUp icon to begin the installation. Follow the prompts for the default install location of:'C:\Program Files\HijackThis'. Tick the 'Create a desktop' button when the option appears. Select next, then allow HijackThis! to start.

Once installed, please rename the hijackthes.exe to any name of your choice, as long as it is something other than hijackthis.exe. Vundo like to hide itself from HJT.

Then press the [Scan] button. You will notice the [Scan] button will turn into a [Save Log] button. Click the [Save Log] button and notepad will open up with the contents of the scan. Right-click in the saved log, and select 'copy'. Then proceed to your original thread, unless otherwise instructed and click the '[Reply]' button and paste the saved contents to be reviewed. Do not make any modifications to the log or perform any 'fixes' until told to do so.

What "connect to" are you speaking of? did it have a name?

Please give me a uninstall list, here's how.

To get an Uninstall List from HijackThis:

• Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
• Click "Open Uninstall Manager "
• Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
• Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Now I would like a AWF log.

Download FindAWF from the link below, saving to the desktop.

When trying to remove the Need2FindBar I get an error:

The specified module could not be found

When trying to remove The Best Offers a webpage comes up saying Te Best Offers is part of Kazaa and I must remove Kazaa to remove The Best Offers. However, Kazaa is not in the add/remove list.

The computer is still unable to connect to the internet.

* Copy and past the StartupList from the notepad into your next post

Download and save kazaabegone, then transfer it to your machine and run it.

I used the Kazaabegone. It did find and deleted entries. However, there is still no internet. Also, The Best Offers still won't uninstall.

Sorry for taking so long, I had to go out of town.

I don't see anything in that log, But I will have someone else look it over to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Do you receive any error messages when trying to connect to the Internet?

Lets also check your settings.

Let me know which one you use. I'm guessing your primary is DSL.

Please click on Start > Control Pannel > Internet Options.
Click on the connections tab

Please let me know what is listed in the Dial Up and virtual private Network settings.

Then click on the LAN Settings, Please let me know what is checked/listed there.

The person I asked to look over the start up list didn't really see anything either. But she did leave this note.

So please check this info also. and decide which AV you wish to use and remove the other, AVG or Noton.
