    Hi everyone,
I don't know how stupid this question might be but I'm serious...
I recently got a laptop (Compaq Presario 1810) wich is running on windows 98 and my desktop is running on windows xp home. My question is, how can I connect these two computers to transfer data from one to another. For the moment, I am burning CD Roms each time I have to transfer something to the laptop (1 CD each time I have data more than 4-5 MB... :(...)
I mean is there a USB cable that I need to get or how does it usually work???? I've never had a laptop before .........

    Thanks in advance...

If you want to use USB, have a look at Laplink USB cables. As for me I use a USB zip drive to move files from one computer to the other.

From what I see that cable does the same as the Laplink cable does. So the answer to your question is yes it should work.

    USB Cable

I'll certainly be on the lookout for one of those  critters myself. :)
