I have read a lot about this, on their own forum, etc, but get stuck initially.

I downloaded DBAN-beta.2006042900_i386 as I have a DUO core processor. I also have 2 HD's 160 GB and 500GB. I want to delete everything. I initially started with version 1.07, but struggled.

I wrote the ISO file to a CD, put it in and then these screens will appear:

I have already changed some of the settings on the second screen

Can someone talk me through the initial steps please?

Did you "burn" the ISO file to make it useable or did you just copy it?

I burnt it on Nero as a data file- was that wrong? If so, what type of file?

.iso files are image files and must be burnt using the 'burn image' command' in your chosen burning softeare. As you discovered in Nero (I use 7) it is Recorder > Burn Image.

Glad to hear you got that sorted out :)

    Unfortunately not done...

I have the 2 drives (C:180GB (with windows) and the 500GB drive). I started with autonuke last night and within moments it was done (cant remember the message)
I then saw that I earlier unplugged the 500gb drive, plugged it in and started again, this time using the interactive mode. The screen just show the 500gb drive and I carried on. It took the whole night to clean the 500gb drive.

This morning the 500gb drive was clean, but I could still start Windows- showed a lot of gb still on the C drive and I cannot manage to get DBAN to clean the C drive.

Apart from autonuke, I have tried interactive, as well as dodshort

I loaded a floppy, but do not know how to read it, as at this stage the PC does not want to boot using windows.

    Any help would be appreciated.
