I am in need of some advice re Windows 7. Which I will have at the end of this month. Reading through various web articles, some of which say that a clean install is required and other say that an upgrade can be performed. I am aware that I will have to backup my computer, but what I am unclear about is after installing Windows 7 can I then use the backup to re install my programmes and data or will I need to gather all the discs together for re installing. I am upgrading from Windows Vista and will be using Paragon Backup Programme.
    Thanks

With Windows 7 you can do an 'in-place' upgrade.

If you decide to do a clean install (better option IMHO) you will need to re-install applications & other software. A backup will only put your files back, but not 're-install' software.
