I updated the free version of Adobe Reader and it took over my printer.
When I went to print the first time I could set the printer to what I wanted it to do, but after that could not reset. It messed up a document that I did for
a friend that had to go to the State of Alabama. Cut off the bottom of the page. I called Adobe and they wanted me to pay 39.00 to fix their mistake.
I deleted the new Adobe file and restored to a prior version of 9 and my printer went back to working on my old printer software. Just wanted everyone to be aware of this problem!

I stopped using Adobe Reader quite sometime back & am currently using Sumatra PDF as my default pdf reader. Very good & very fast. Give it a try.
