    Hello all!

Today I noticed a process in Task Manager that I haven´t seen before. At a first glance, I thought that it was some kind of malware and I ran Ad-aware and SpyBotSD but that wasn´t it.
I restarted the computer and it was gone from Task Manager but when I started Acrobat, not only acrobat.exe but also AOM.exe appeared. After having closed Acrobat, acrobat.exe disappeared immediately but AOM.exe lingered for a minute or two before disappearing.

I have browsed the web to find out what AOM.exe does but found no "hard evidence ".

    Does anyone know?

    Thanks for Your time,
    Christer

    Hi Jim!

I´ve been Googling and saw that AoM has a bearing on that game (or whatever it is ...... ...... I never amuse myself with those).

    The AOM.exe I´m discussing is located in C:\PROGRAM\SHARED FILES\ADOBE\WEB

Its properties says AOM MFC APPLICATION and the copyright is ADOBE.

Judged by the date of the empty log file in the same directory, it has been there since I installed Acrobat and it has probably been running before without me noticing it.

I have the update function in Acrobat set to MANUAL and it has never shown up in the firewall.

I´m having no problems, just curious about this executable which I initially suspected to be some kind of malware.

Well, I did several searches, one for "Adobe Acrobat AOM.exe" but didn´t notice the hit on "Adobe Spyware Warning ". It´s possible that it was there though ...... ...... but it seems too spot on to miss!?

Now I know what it is and what it does and I´m okey with it ...... ...... if that check is all it does ...... ...... since my copy is legitimate!

    Thanks,
    Christer
