Just setting up a new computer and logged one with my ID. All works fine, but now I want to logon with the Administraor ID so I can communicate over the home network with the old machine, and transfer files to the new machine.

Only problem, I can't find the Admin ID. If I logoff my name, I'm given only the option to log back onto my own account. Control panel/User accounts shows only my ID with Admin privilages.

Please remind me how to proceed.

    Log off!

    On user screen hit Ctrl-Alt-Del
    pause
    do it again

You will get the logon window

    type

    Administrator
    then
    the password.

Unless this is XP Home then Administrator is only available in Safe Mode.
