Did you play around with Group Policy or installed any program that modified it ?

logon as the actual admin. on xp pro, from welcome screen, do CTRL+ALT and tap DEL twice.

After logging in as Administrator, Run->gpedit.msc <enter>.

The Group Policy editor would open, find the entry 'Restrict Access to Removable drives' (or something like that) and set it No.

    Spooky....?

    What exactly will this do?.

I have a stand alone, first time XP Pro machine that I am still learning. I am the admin, although, it created a couple other users too, one being my first name.

    Thanks,
    DEM
