Until recently I had my logon account (Username Andy) automatically at bootup on my Vista 32 bit Ultimate PC. Yesterday I went into Admin Tools to check on password and permissions. I am a single user at home and have no security concerns with other users.
Somehow I ended up with 2 choices at the logon screen now: Administrator (which I'd like to remove from the screen) and my regular (Andy) which I wish to just automatically enter, as it always has.
What did I do to suddenly have to make a choice at startup? I can't seem to undo it. Can anyone show me the method of removing the Administrator icon from the login screen, leaving out the additional step of choosing my logon account each time? Thanks.

    Andy

    Hi Andy

To use autologon requires a password (even tho you will not need to use it to log on)

    Click Start_Run
    type
    netplwiz

In the Users tab, highlight the account you want to use to login to Vista then click "must enter a username and password to use this computer "

Click Apply. A window will popup asking you to enter the password of the account you’ve just highlighted. Enter it and click "˜Ok’

Click Ok on the Advanced User Accounts menu to finish
