Hi everyone, this is my first post here, so if I mess up, please be nice :)
The Problem we're having is this:
    Computer:
AMD XP1500+, 512 DDR, 30 gig Maxtor hdd , and of course XP as OS.
    Problem:
Had a problem that could not be fixed via restore, drive was formatted <NTFS to NTFS >, XP loads fine, but when it gets to the point of asking for the name, I put the name I always do, and it says that I cannot be equal to ADMIN <insert name here> .
Drive has had all partitions deleted, and formatted as one big C drive, then fdisked again <I was told this would ensure a clean erase of all data.... would like opinions on this from you guys too> and then all drives formatted via XP cd as NTFS. reload windows.... once again .. the same message. Thought the possibility that somehow a BIOS setting for ADMIN must be involved... cleared that, and know it did, I had to change certain settings back..... so where is this ADMIN coming from?Any help would be appreciated very much.

It pretty much has to be something you are trying to do that the install program does not like / won't allow.

The steps you already took did slick the drive and I am not aware of any BIOS features that would deal with this.

I'm not real clear just where you are getting the error though. Is it when you are trying to set up the administrator account? And could you provide the Exact error please - maybe including the name you are trying to use.

We promise not to try to crack your system. :D
