address drop down menu always empty

    :confused: I have a Windows 98 PC that for some reason, about a week ago, stopped storing URL's in the address drop down menu of IE6. At first I thought I may have cleared my history, but the history is all there. If I type in a new address, it does not seem to show. Is there some setting that may need to be changed?

    Programs like TweakUI have options to delete at every shut down.

    Did you change something on the Tools>IE Options>Content tab>auto complete?

    Not that I know of, but I do think we might have upgraded to IE6 just a week or so ago, from 5.5. Would that have changed anything?

    It is quite possible that installing IE 6 has reset the defaults - can't remember exact detail on this,

    Follow Dave's advice and check out the Autocomplete settings.
