    Outlook Express 6

When I copy the wab file from one machine to another I have to do an import to get the addresses. However the import does not regenerate the folders that were in the original address book. But they are there somewhere because if I try to create a folder of the same name it says it already exists! Bummer!

I would like to be able to overlay the whole address book folders and all on a regular update basis. Anybody Know How ?

A friend had this problem recently when he aquired a new computer - if memory serves I suggested a copy/paste from the old computer to the new - the address book file on both computers must have exactly the same name.

You need to copy 2 files ....

    Name.wab

    Name.wab~

    It worked a treat :)

OK, Thanks Pete, I have different names on the two computers and tried to rename the wab file to the other name but it didn't work. I guess the OE program looks at that long funny number it assigns to users regardless of name.
