I need to install an additional monitor and think I have done so correctly but still get a "no signal" on the secondary monitor. I have installed a new video card. Any suggestions?

The Ruckers - Welcome to the Board :)

Have you installed and configured the software which accompanied your video card? I can only speak of Matrox software which autodetects that a second monitor has been plugged in to the card and asks if the display should be extended onto that monitor.

Always a possibility that the video cable is faulty. Does the monitor work when plugged into the primary monitor socket on the card?

Bottom line is the software must be installed and configured. It would be helpful if you could post the make and model of the video card - sure to be some users of the same hardware on the Board who may be able to help out.

    Hi,
Hopefully, you should just have to go to Control Panel -> Display -> Settings tab. There should be two pictures of screens, click on screen #2 and at the bottom there is a chekbox "extend my desktop onto this monitor ".

There may be set up information in the manual or you may want to search at the graphics card manufacturer's website for the terms "dual ", "multiple" and "second monitor ".

    Matt
