I use Thunderbird for my email client. Someone sent me and 76 others an email concerning a meeting.

Is there a way to add ALL of the addresses to my Address Book at one time?

I can do the one at a time deal but someone said it can be done but that I'd have to go back later and add the names. Kind of risky, I think.

    Thanks.

Yes, paste all the addresses into Notepad and format it like this:

    Code:
    First Name,Last Name,Display Name,Nickname,Primary Email,Secondary Email,Work Phone,Home Phone,Fax Number,Pager Number,Mobile Number,Home Address,Home Address 2,Home City,Home State,Home ZipCode,Home Country,Work Address,Work Address 2,Work City,Work State,Work ZipCode,Work Country,Job Title,Department,Organization,Web Page 1,Web Page 2,Birth Year,Birth Month,Birth Day,Custom 1,Custom 2,Custom 3,Custom 4,Notes,
    ,,John Doe,,johndoe@domain.com,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Each person must be on a new line.

Use the Edit Menu > Replace > Replace All to add the commas.
    For example:
    Find com
    Replace all with com,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Repeat for net and org and other domains.

Then copy+paste 2 commas at the beginng of each line.

    Then save as addresses.csv.
Open TB Address Book > Tools > Import.

  3. to hide this advert.

    Thanks.

    I'll give that a try.

I tried a method I found on the Mozilla site and what a mess that was.

The code in the box above contains ALL of the available fields in the TB address book, in the correct sequence too. Just make sure you include ALL of the commas for a smooth import.

    Tony.

Still working on it after trying the Mozilla method and having that mess up.

I learn something new everyday about computing.

    Thanks.
