Adding a primary partition to a hard drive on a laptop

    I have a laptop where the whole C drive is one partition. It is running WIN XP Pro SP1. Can I create a partition on the drive without a 3rd party software? All of the space on this drive is allocated so there is no free space or unallocated space. I

    Straight answer is no - you will need third party software.
    High time to upgrade to SP 2 - support for SP 1 ends on the 10th Oct.

    If you start over with a clean install, the XP install routine will let you create partitions.
