added hard drive

    original hd is 17g..w2kpro o/s..changed jumper to slave &added new 60g hd as master...using manuf. install software,at prompt,i copied all files from existing disk.[fat 32] i thought i call format small disk ,erase all file & have plenty storage. problem is i cant format old disk c...i get volume open or in use message.i also cant open add/remove program feature....any help.i have gigs of music i dont want to lose
