I am giving an old smaller hard drive to my son's friend.
The newer hard drive is 6 gigs
The computer is an older Celeron (approx 200 Mhz) with
a 3 gig hard drive running Win 98.
Would it be a simple matter to just add the 2nd drive or should it be a swap ? :)

I don't quite understand what you are doing. Which computer has which drive? To which computer are you trying to add a drive and what are the sizes of the existing drives and what are the sizes of any drive(s) to be added/moved?

    schamish,

Basically, you should have to set the additional drive to the slave position. Then mount the drive in the new system and attach a power cord and IDE cable. Depending on what your system has for ribbon cables, you may need to buy a ribbon for two IDE devices. If the drive isn't formatted, go ahead and format now if you want.
