    Hello,

I finally set up a network between my PC and my Laptop that shares the internet. Unfortunately, approximately every 5 minutes the connection between the two computers drops and I have to reconnect them. Its strange because I will be surfing the web on my wireless laptop and the pages will start coming up not found... I'll look at the system tray to discover that the network is not connected. When I click on the available networks icon it will show my network as not connected (the one I set up between my lappy and PC) but if I double click on it to connect it will ask me if I want to DISconnect... odd. Don't know why its asking me if I want to disconnect since the comp already did that for me.
Any ideas why it's doing this and what I can do to fix the problem.
P.S. The network is ad-hoc. I'm using a wireless network adapter. (WUSB11 Linksys connected to a Broadcom wireless card.)

Interference may be one of the cause. Try changing the channel & see if it makes any difference.

Ok this is going to sound strange but I went through about 7 FAQ's and Guides to set up my ad-hoc network and EVERY one mentioned changing the channel. I have never found this setting while looking through the properties of my router/ internet connection/ network etc... Where exactly do I change the channel?

Sorry Rev2225, I can't give you very precise answer to that as each product has its own quirks for changing the channel. You can go to manufacturer's website and poke about a bit in there.

Ok thx for your help. I plan on getting a router in the future anyways. It's strange... the disconnections seem to only happen at night. I've been on my laptop for the past 2 hours and have not had any problems.
