I've downloaded the 1.03 build of AdAware, as well as the vx2 cleaner plug-in (from Major Geeks). Installation of both items seemed to go fine, but even after installing the plug-in, vx2 cleaner doesn't show up under "add-ons" (which is where I gather it's supposed to show up). I ran a "search" for vx2cleaner and came up with the original exe file, plus vx2cleaner.dll and vx2cleaner.dlx, both located in C'\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal\Plug-ins. In reading about other people's problems with this, it was suggested that the plug-in be downloaded anew from the Lavasoft site -- which I did, but have yet to install this one.
The "version" (?) I downloaded from Major Geeks is called plvx2cleaner.exe; the one from Lavasoft is called plvx2cleaner-1.exe.
Does anyone know if these two versions are actually different, and if so, should I delete the vx2cleaner.dll and .dlx files from my computer before trying to install the Lavasoft version? Or is all of this unnecessary because even though nothing shows up under "add-ons" on my AdAware screen, those two files in the Ad-Aware SE Personal\Plug-ins folder prove that the vx2cleaner *is* in there? But if that's the case, how do I access it?
    Thanks!
    Rebecca

    Hi Rebecca,

If you can't access the plug-in from the main panel, then its not installed.

I would download it from Lavasoft and get rid of the MajorGeeks version. Lavasoft also should have pinned instructions on installing/unistalling plug-ins. Also, the help on the main panel discusses plugins and their installation and uninstall.

    Regards - Charles
