    Hi all,

    Now I am working on transferring the users and computer accounts from NT domain to the AD domain. I am running the ADMT ver 2.0 to do so. During the migration test, I came across the error whereby the target domain ( ie my AD domain controller ) has to be native mode. I have no problems converting my domain controller to native mode but I have a few questions and I seek your expertise;

    1. Do I really need to convert my DC to native mode?
    2. I have a BDC on another domain, what must I
    do to let users authenticate to two domains?
    3. My Exchange 5.5 is on BDC of another domain and I
    understand NT 4 BDC cannot be viewed in the AD.
    After I have created trust for both domains, is
    it possible for users in AD domain be able to
    send and receive mails via the Exchange 55 server
    of another domain? If it is possible, can you
    kindly advice what I should do?

    Thanks for taking some time to understand my dilema

    I'm going to spectate on this one because "It ain't pretty" going from an NT4 domain to AD. There are a lot of "ifs" and "buts" along the way.

    If it's a small enough Domain I would just start over by creating the new Domain and using Profile Wizard To copy old user domain profiles to new one.

    If you have less than say 50 users I would consider that. of corse I would test the method with a couple of dummy accounts first.

    If that's not an option then I'll just sit back and listen and learn. ;)
