When I close the lid of my HP / Compaq NC8000 Notebook the
notebook goes in hibernation (like what I have set in "Power Management ").
According the documentation I expect that the notebook comes up automatically when I open the lid, however, I have to press the button upper left on the keyboard.
Also, if I have made the configuration in the "Adjust Power Properties" that the notebook should go in the "Standby Mode" when I close the lid,
I have to activate the notebook by pressing the button.
Is this a hardware problem (although rather minor) or is it a BIOS-setting or a registry key setting ?
In the last two cases I might be able to cure this problem after your advice.
    Thanks,

    Ed

Look up the power settings that are available in the BIOS in the manual/User Guide, although they should(?) be overriden by settings in Windows.

Put some of the terms relating to the power settings into a search on the HP website.
