    hey all -

i am a new member... please forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere.. i have not been able to find a solution to this one. I have an ASUS W2V - that has been fraught with problems. The latest one is: ACPI.sys will peg my processor to 99% occasionally - seems to trigger when i receive a new message in outlook. I have installed the latest acpi drivers from ASUS - to no avail...

    any suggestions?

I need to suspend the process to get things under control - then restart to allow the system to go to sleep. ugh.

How long does it stay pegged at 99%?
If it only does it for a few seconds, doubtfull there is anything you can do.

    acpi.sys

the processor stays pegged indefinitely once it goes off... i have wade my way through bezerk processor to fire up process explorer to the acpi.sys thread in system - suspend the process - then back to normal.
