My Acer 7720G laptop has Vista installed, it all works OK.
The Acer L/top on the other hand has a bunch of "builtin" Acer advertising flashing up if I leave the screen for a few minutes. I have read it all and now it's a pain in the proverbial butt. The ads dissappear as soon as I start work again but I really want them switched off now.

How do I switch it off? Is that possible? I have searched all over and cant find any way to switch these flashing ads off, please help.

Is it an Acer screen saver? If so change to another screen saver or none at all.

    Hello PeteC,

    Tnx for your response.

No, it's not a screen saver, I know about those and have something different set for that. I have since discovered that it is driven by "Flash Player ". The status bar shows a button with "Flash Player" on it when it flashs up and does the advert thing. It also shows some of the functions that Acer has setup on the L/top. I think "Flash Player" is an Adobe function but cant see anything in the Adobe folder/files that refers to advertising type stuff !??

Google for a prog called pcdecrapifier ---- or,something very similar to that. A little tool that removes all that bundled adware stuff.

    "OH !! How embarrassment !! "

PeteC, you were right mate ! I went back and double checked my screen savers and there it was; it's called "Acer" and it displayed exactly what I was complaining about. ( How embarrassing )

Thanks guys for your responses ....
