I have an ACER laptop and very happy with it. I have a general question about the hard drive. Why would ACER partition the hard drive into two drives? I have a c drive and a d drive. It doesn't hurt anything but I am more curious as to why. Is their an advantage to this. It came from the factory with two drives. The owners manual says nothing about it. Just trying to figure out what was on their mind. This is my first Laptop so I have nothing to compare to. Thanks

It is convenient to have the operating system on one drive/partition and your data on another. If the OS breaks and you need to reformat and reinstall your data remains safe as you only need to reformat the OS partition. Many laptops are supplied this way now and I assume - cannot speak from experience, that using the recovery CD generally supplied these days formats only the OS partition. Check out the manual on Recovery, re-installation ....
