Hi bebuzz68. Do you have a Windows 8.1 DVD that you can use to format the hard drive?

Would you rather format the drive and perform a clean install of Windows 8.1 or do you want to see if the virus can be removed from the machine?

if i have a choice i would rather have win 7, and do a clean install, but will a regular disk work.

You mean a Windows 7 DVD? Do you have a Windows 7 product key?

Since its a tablet then it was designed for Windows 8.1 RT. You will most likely run into issues if you install Windows 7 on that tablet.

Why not just use the refresh or reset feature in Windows 8.1 on the tablet which will restore it to factory settings?

Why don't you fill out your System Specs. It makes it so much easier to see what you have. Go to User CP and finish filling it out. 32/64 Bit OS 32-bit doesn't give us much to go on.
