I have been experienceing ongoing wirless connection problems on the Acer Aspire 5735. On several occasions I have completely lost the connection. I then run the set up disk and all worked for a few days/weeks before the problem reoccurs.

Recently I lost the connection and ran the set up disc and now this wont mend the problem. I have connection through the yellow cable but no connection when wireless although it clearly states I am connected to my network.

I have spoke to my ISP and they say all is well at thier end (I believe them). They ran through a few things and checked my password and username. All is well. They suggested I contact Belkin who make the router I use.

So I spoke to Belkin. They kindly went through all the settings a helped me resetup the network. Still I had no wireless connection. They suggested I try my second laptop, another Acer. The second laptop connects fine with no problem. This suggests the problem lies with my laptop - The Acer aspire 5735. Wireless Lan is enabled.

This laptop runs vista on 3 meg of ram.

Your help would be appreciated in sorting this problem. I look forward to your replies

    Gosh, no replies.

The problem resolved itself briefly yesterday and returned again today.

Its very strange and Im beginning to wonder if its a networking problem at all. When it reoccured this morning. I could surf some sites fine and then others redirected to ask.com and then some redirect to a google page that said dns error.

Your help would be really welcom.

Again the problem only exists on 1 laptop and this one I am now working on works fine through the wireless connection

Acer laptops come with a lot of acer software utilities, all it it is completely unnecessary for everyday computing. Some may be desired for system recovery though.

You probably have acer wifi connection software. Get rid of it and let Windows handle the connection.
