    Hi,
    Does any one know what is the fastest processor that can be install in a Acer Aspire 1800? At the moment it has a Pentium 4 515 Prescott Socket 775 LGA.
    I have searched the net with regards to this but it is not very clear if I already have the fastest installed. Still running XP.

    Thanks for any help.

    Cheers :confused:

    Hi, Yes I have been looking at that, but when it comes to processors am not sure what is compatible with this board.
    The cpu installed is P4 515 Prescott 775 LGA, Bus speed 133Mhz
    As FSB is 133, can I install one with 200 FSB?
    TDP is 85w, can I go higher? eg. Can I install P4 662 or P4 670

    :confused::confused::confused:

    Thanks in advance

    Neil

    Have you ever changed a CPU in a laptop. I've changed many. Have you ever torn down a laptop. There are no guarantees that the CPU that you think is compatible will even be compatible at all. What model system board is installed in the computer. You are only going to get out of the system board whatever the rating of the board is.
