accessing old hard drive [to transfer my email files]

My laptop crashed so I bought a new one and put the old hard drive in an external box that uses the USB port to connect to a computer. I want to transfer my email files (Netscape 7.2) to my new computer. How?

 

When you access the external box, can you find the Netscape 7.2 Profiles folder?

Look HERE for the Profiles folder location.

First as had been mentioned, can you see your files on the HD?
If you can, then you will have to find what you want to copy to the new one.
Remember it may depend how the settings were in your Netscape program as to where the files are. Sometimes some of these files could be in the documents and settings under the programs, or under the folder where Netscape is in the proper email file. Use the windows browser to look on the Hd.
You may be able to import the needed files from the old hard drive to the new one, see the Netscape options. You need to have the Netscape mail program running to import, by the way.


If you can import, that is better and may save some time. This will also use the correct format needed.
