    I know this may seem off topic, and I originally posted this in the General forum, but I am beginning to think that this may be related to an unintentional change in operating system setup.

    This is a fairly recent problem for me. Adobe.com times out with both IE6 and Netscape 7.1. I am running Windows 98SE. My wife's XP machine, networked thru the same router to a cable modem has no prolems with Adobe. I have tried all the obvious things like deleteing temp files, playing with security settings and enabling/disabling/cleaning up/removing cookies, and scanning for spyware. This is the only site out of dozens that I vist regualarly that I am having a problem with. Anyone with a similar experience with this or some other site that suddenly became unavailable?

    This is going to be rather simplistic but....

    Any of these links work for you?

    http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=lang_en&ie=ISO-8859-1&newwindow=1&q=Adobe

    Sometimes it helps to start from somewhere within the site and surf back to the front door.

    ======

    I know you have stated you have clean or emptied IE TIF but:

    To do a thorough job include those hidden files "index.dat ", "desktop.ini ":

    Restart in Dos Mode, and do these commands, pressing Enter at the end of each line. The first command may appear to do nothing. Type a Y that you want to delete when prompted, check the spelling at this time.
    smartdrv
    deltree c:\windows\cookies
    deltree c:\windows\history
    deltree c:\windows\temp
    deltree c:\windows\tempor~1

    To avoid having to type the confirmation yes add the /y switch (=yes)
    example:
    deltree /y c:\windows\cookies

    NOTE* deleting cookies will mean that any sites you have cached cookie preference, settings and options for will have to be reset when you visit the site once again.

    Please see Marks thread in why a dosmode cleanup is recommended. This is one way to include those index.dat's which must be done from time to time.
