I dont know if this is in the correct section as it relates to XP and Server 2003

I have a test 2k3 domain setup just using the eval software. I have setup dhcp and dns as well as RRAS.

I have attached a switch which is connected to the DC and 1 XP Pro machine which I have joined to the domain (I plan on adding another 3 XP Boxes).I can access the internet no problem on the XP box.

In AD I have created and OU and placed one user in there which is a member of the administrators grp but when I log into the XP box with this username and pwd it logs in under a limited account and thus I can not install additional software unless I log out and log in as the overall administrator (not local admin). Is there anyway apart from using the administrator username to be able to have full access to the XP box within the domain.

BTW I have not setup any grp policies apart from the pwd policies.

    Cheers

It sounds like you need to make a security group in AD, put yourself in it, and then add that security group to the Local Admins security group on the XP box.
