I am the administrator and, indeed, only user on my vista 32 bit computer. I cannot figure out how to grant my self security access to the documents and settings/default user folder. I have tried everything I can think of to no avail and would appreciate any tips.

    Many thanks.

"Documents and Settings" in Vista isn't really a folder. It's a "junction" which points to the "Users" folder and put there for older software that needs it. You won't be able to gain access to it.

The "Users" folder is Vista's replacement for "Documents and Settings. "

    Thanks

I finally got access only to find that what I had been told was there wasn't.

The things that were in XP's Documents and Settings folder (all the user accounts and their "stuff ") are now in Vista's Users folder.

Everything I've read indicates Vista's Documents and Settings couldn't be accessed. How did you do it?

By gaining access through the Users folder. I granted full control to myself and the computer accepted it. Once I had it in the Users folder I had it in Documents and Settings. It appears to be a mirror with a different name but the same properties. Does not make any difference where you work.
