Dell Service Tag 54YP6Z1 Running Windows 8

Is there a way to access Dell's System Recovery partition from boot? Windows will not run.

I don't know that it is resolved yet as I have not yet filled in the information at the Dell web site. I will have time to do that this evening.

Alex, try tapping F8 just as soon as you see the Dell splash logo. It should take you to Safe Mode options, plus a repair option. Select the repair option, and it should take you a list of repair / recovery options. I think factory restore is at the bottom of the list.

Nevertheless, go ahead and order those recovery CDs from the link that Doc posted, in case F8 doesn't work.

While your at it, go to this link and follow the prompts to download any third-party software that came preinstalled on your Dell...

Just pick out the software titles that you feel are worthwhile, and leave the rest alone.

If, for some reason you cannot access your recovery partition, you'll have to reinstall Windows from the soon-to-be-ordered recovery disks, and those disks do not include any preinstalled third-party software.
