About Windows XP Pro License ......... ?

    Hello,

    i already have 8 computer in my office & i just installed Windows Xp in all of them ... till now i dont have any license

    so i wanna to know what kind of license i need in my case ?

    in general i wanna to know how many types of license is availabe & what the deffernce "open licence, atand alone license,upgrade license,license+WinXp ..................etc"

    You do have one license (assuming the CD you used was one you bought and not a copy from someone's CD burner).

    And 7 unlicensed copies that won't allow upgrades or several other items.

    You can read what Microsoft says about Volume Licensing Here.

    With 8 PCs, take a careful look to figure out if it will be easier to get the volume license at this point or just to buy enough XP CDs to load all your PCs with a legal copy.

    be careful about this too, since the XP licence actually contains a clause allowing microsoft to change the contents of said agreement at a later date, theoretically allowing them to leave you high and dry at some point in the future.
