About spyware

I recently downloaded a spyware product that after scanning brought up quiet a few problems in my registry (H-Key etc). I've been told to be careful in changing things there and am curious what to do.

Spyhunter

 

I would recommend you replace that with Spybot and Ad-aware. Delete all they find. Many of them will be registry entries, since the spyware/adware targets the registry. SpyHunter didn't make the list here or here. I'm unfamiliar with it and haven't seen it recommended in any of the 5 forums I frequent.

 

Thanks, I have adaware but it didn't list some of the things spyhunter did. I think i'll try spybot.

 

Use them both. They all target different critters. See the last post in this thread for deep scanning configurations.
