I have Firefox 1.0. Is there supposed to be some dropdown that tells me what plugins are installed? I can't find anything like that. How does one tell what plugins are installed without looking in the plugin folder?
How does one install plugins? Do you have to put the plugin program in the plugin folder?
Sorry for such stupidity but after all this time I never installed a plugin except for flash and that was done automatically, I think.

    ackerberg,

Enter "about:plugins" (no quotes) in url bar -
then create a bookmark for that page.

I leave the istall plugins to others.

In Firefox: Tools|Options|Downloads| Plugins button at the bottom of the page.

Thanks for all the information. It was just what I wanted to know about Firefox.
I guess the situation with Mozilla is different. Do I have to look in the plugins folder to see what is there or is there another method too?

Either the way thre capt said, or in the plugins folder. It is neater and informative with the about:config, while it is a fishing expedition in the folder.
