If you are not going to be using your old scanner and printer I would uninstall them before installing the new printer.

    Just a simple reminder.........

Don't forget to REBOOT after the install. I know it goes without saying, but some people aren't aware of the problems they can run across if they don't do this before they use the new item they just installed. Got a frantic call from a friend who said his keyboard froze up. He even switched it out with another one and it still didn't work. He had just installed MS Office and never rebooted. Had to explain to him why his keyboard froze. Needless to say, it worked great after he rebooted.

    Enjoy your new printer!

    :)

If your new printer is a USB one then remember the correct procedure for USB devices is to install the drivers (software) first, re-boot and then power on the printer and then connect it to the USB port.

The exception to this procedure is when after installing the sofware, you get a prompt on screen to "Now connect your printer to the USB port ".
