My wife runs her own business and came home to do some work but found that some of her floppy's had been compressed by Drivespace. She didn't request that they be compressed, but never the less it requests that Drivespace be used to decompress and that it's on windows 98. I have 98SE and don't have this drivespace. I looked it up and was going to download it but I'm not sure from reading about it that I want to. Is there another way to get at those floppy's?

You should be able to add DriveSpace in Add/Remove, Windows components. I don't remember what it was called, but "Compression Tool" or something along those lines rings a bell.

Try it. Can't hurt. The Help file was pretty good as I remember.

It was included with Win95 and may not appear if you are using FAT32 file system (most likely). It can't be used at all on FAT32, so if the floppy was created on a Win95 machine with FAT16 file system, you should go back to that machine and create new floppies by the usual methods.
