Hi there. I'm a newbie and I need help.

Whenever I try and get into my hotmail inbox, either from the link on my MSN Messenger list or through MSN/Hotmail.com itself, it will show my inbox for a second before linking immediately to about:blank, which has a lot of useless links on it and tells me I'm infected with spyware. I started by running Adaware and Spybot scans, but the didn't solve the the problem. I was then recommended Hijack This and advised to post the HTJ log, which I'll put here:

Even after deleting the ones recommended (the ones I bolded), they reappeared and I remain unable to open my hotmail site (along with ebay and a few others). Please could someone suggest something? I'd be very grateful.

Disable System Restore, and reboot. This is important to do this as deleted files will reappear otherwise.

Remove these items in HJT with all internet browsers, and Windows Explorer windows closed.

Question: Is it safe to enable System Restore again or should I play it safe and leave it as it is?

You should leave System Restore off until you are clean. SR if enabled will replace deleted files, including ones you are trying to get rid of.
The entries I am posting to remove are almost the same ones.

Reboot into Safe Mode and set Windows Explorer Folder Options to Show All Files.
    Delete these files.

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\adaware.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ieil.dll

Delete these folders, I notice one is new, and the other is from before. I do not know if you chose not to delete it, but it is part of your problem, and it has invited friends to join the party.

    C:\Program Files\Windows AdStatus
    C:\Program Files\Windows FormatAd

    Have a good day.

I was able to delete the folder I've highlighted in bold but the rest I simply couldn't find manually, through both browsing through the folders and using the search function. Am keeping the system disabled for the mean-time.

    Thanks again.

If you cannot find those files, they could have been removed by Spybot or Ad-Aware.
When you do enable System Restore, the restore points will be created from the current files on the drive.
Post a new log, it will show if you are indeed clean.
