ABIT KX7-333R IDE-3 problem

I have two drives on each IDE-1 and IDE-2. These four drives are all recognized by the system. I have one drive on IDE-3 that is not recongized by the system. If I install this last drive on IDE-1 or IDE-2 it is recognized properly. Any of the other drives are not recognized if on IDE-3. Advice? Thanks, Craig

Turn the IDE3 on in the BIOS?

Otherwise go to the manufacturers web site and ask?

 

First check would be to try a different cable and make sure your HDD jumper is set to cable select or single HDD. Assuming you've done this, it might be time to check for Highpoint driver updates and a new bios update. You can also unplug any IDE devices you have running on your regular IDE headers and see if there is a conflict between your regular IDE controller and your highpoint RAID controller. I've encountered this specific problem when running above 1800+ cpu's on KG7 Raid boards but none of the HDD's were properly recognized - fix required bios flash and highpoint driver updates. Still had to install an OS using either IDE devices connected or highpoint devices connected but not both at the same time until I had an OS on the HDD's - try that one on for a challenge.
