    Hi All,

Is it possible to have a Sent sub-folder such that only mail to a particular address will be directed to it? I would like to be able to have one folder which contains just that one address. I have no problem setting up this sub folder and through Account Setting to Manage identities assign a unique e-mail address. But my attempts in getting the message in the new folder have failed. Does anyone have an answer?

I can't think of any simple way that you can specify an address and only for Sent mail, to go a different folder. You could, possibly do something about it using a Filter, but I don't even want to try that.
It is much simpler to select the mail sent to this address by doing a Search for the name. That will give you a list of e-mails, which you can highlight, and, Move to the desired folder. I do this, regularly with received mail. And, it is very simple to take care of several e-mails.

    Westside,

I agree with your response and I had followed discussions in the MozillaZine Knowledge Base about filters. This approach appears to be much too complex. Instead I used a Sent sub-folder. After sending the mail it then became a matter of Filing the message to the particular sub-folder. This method, while requiring some manual steps, will do what is needed to put certain messages into its unique folder. I think this is what you were saying in you reply. Thank you for your help.

I, generally, do not file or whatever you may call, any Sent mail, but, I do create subfolders for incoming mail. I, usually, do nothing until there are too many e-mails from one person, or usually, site. Then, I enter a very clear description of the Sender, in the Search box. When I do that I get a bunch of e-mails from that site or person. I left click under the messages, and then do Cntrl+A, highlighting all of them. Then I right click|move to the desired folder. Finally, I compact the Inbox (in your case the Sent box) to detach the messages, which would still be in the background. If I want to be thorough, I drag (click and hold) and drop the header to the desired folder.
