I have red I few articles on tweaking and other registry stuff.
some articles say that you have to add a new name with a new value in a specific registry key.

what I don't get is how they figure out these new names with a specific value. can you randomly create name with values to accomplish a tweak or new setting?

is there a way to find all available entry's and what they do?

where do they get there resources?

does anyone knows an answer to these questions

    thanx

    ;)

Yes, his name is OZ and he lives in Redmond WN.

Yes, you can insert any name you wish for a registry key. If there is no corresponding program that requires what you have created, it will be useless. It helps to know what is being searched for as the registry is being used. More about that later.

That would be quite impossible since it would be equal the factorial of the all the letters of the alphabet plus every available number (infinity) so the answer would be no. Just suffice to say, there's plenty of room left.

The resources that are used to search the Registry and utilize what is found are built into the OS by the developer (derived from your RAM BTW) and in concert with the software developers. They are dedicated to the task and their value cannot easily be changed.
