    System = Vista 64 bit, SP1
    HD total size = 698.64GB Free space = 621.76GB
    C partition = total = 66.48GB, Free = 48GB

    If I wanted to make the C partition total size equal to 100GB
    then the figure i would put into the disk manager would
    be 100.00GB or 33.52GB?

    Hi Clif

    As you know I don't use Vista but normal procedure for partition tools is to state the new size not how huch you want it to grow. So initialy I'd say put in 100Gb, but then again when do MS ever follow normal practice? ;)

    Surely if you get it wrong though you can shrink the partition down?

    :)

    Hi wildfire,

    You got that right, MS canbe expected to do the unexpected!

    I did entry 100GB and it added it to what was already there.
    So C is now 164GB instead of the previous 66GB.

    thanks,
    savagcl
