a problem on the desktop

    My sister 's computer is having problems, her desktop and taskbar have disappeared but she can still access her programs and stuff, do you know what might have happened? Any help would be nice.:confused:

    Hi davecwashere, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

    What happens when you bring up task manager and click File< New Task< and type explorer and hit enter? Does Windows Explorer start? Can you get Windows Explorer to startup in Safe Mode?
