I have searched this forum and the internet for the solution and I have not found it. The solutions that were posted from Google dont work.
My dad has IE 11 running on a Win 7 OS. He keeps getting this error msg:

    "Internet explorer has stopped working---
A PROBLEM CAUSED THE PROGRAM TO STOP WORKING CORRECTLY.
Windows will close the program and notify you, if a solution is available.

I tried disabling the add ons and also tried to uninstall IE 11 and revert back to 9. Good luck with that. The IE update doesn't show up in the "update list ".
In addition I am having to do all this on join.me since I live in FL and he lives in NY. Fun times.
    Any suggestions? I'm stumped.

First look in Installed updates (Control Panel > Windows Updates > View Update History > Installed Updates) - Internet Explorer 11 should be listed under Microsoft Windows. Try putting Internet into the search box in the Uninstall an update window.

If it isn't there there is clearly an issue with the installation.

I would download and install it again - over the top .....

    No remote

Chawni12, does join.me allow you to take remote control of father's computer? If not, there's a free (for home use) program called TeamViewer that will allow you to manipulate his PC with ease. No installation is necessary, and I used it to update a Windows 8 computer of late. Neither party has to create an account to use this.

Yes, Join.Me allows remote control. It's owned by LogMeIn.com and is real easy to use.

    For example:

    1. Tell your Mom to go to Join.Me, click "start meeting ", then read you the 9-digit number she sees at the top of her screen.

    2. You go to Join.Me, click "join meeting" and type in that 9-digit number she just read you.
That's it. You now have control of her computer in your browser window.
