The title says it and I can do without it. This message and screen appears when I turn my Firefox 3.0 on. I have not asked for add-ons and when I click on Add-0n Update the response I receive is that "No updates were found." I believe that the earlier ones were titled Clipmarks. Can anyone help me avoid this annoyance?

    derfsch,

    Open about:config
(Clear Location Bar, and type: about:config)

    In the Filter field type:
    browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete

Toggle the "true" value to "false "

  3. to hide this advert.

    Ramona,

I have delayed my response to further check the "Add-on" condition. Sorry to say after making the change you recommended, the condition returns but not every time I open Firefox. In the "aboutconfig" page what has changed in the "browser.download............AlertOnComplete" line, the Status column shows user set in place of default and the Value column shows false in place of true . Any further thoughts?

    derfsch,

In Tools | Options | Advanced | Updates

Try disabling all settings and see what happens.
