I have a password protected memory stick which I can and do freely move among computers both of which have Windows XP home edition on them. Recently I closed it in some way so that on the computer in which it had been and now it does not recognize it as a USB device. It works fine in the other computer. How can I get it It is a easydisk USB64 Mb:confused:

It appears that only Win98 requires an added driver for this device. The driver should be on the CD which accompanied the device.

Try removing whatever driver is used now in Device Manager, (optionally) rebooting, and then plugging in the device with the computer running so it can install the driver.

Thanks for the help. I did resolve it. I am too ashamed to mention what it was, [ to put it kindly] I it was strictly operator error. Thanks for trying to help the old man

No no more queastions but I must fess up. I must shamefacedly admit that I have solved my problem. I hesitate to admit my case of blatant stupidity. Perhaps I can blame it on my age. Here when I do something stupid ,I usually blame to on our beagle. <Sigh>
I have two computers and three hubs. Two on one machine and one on the other. It was plugged into the wrong computer after an installation of a USB2 hub. Somehow I ******* up. Only one other component was plugged in with the memory stick even though it was placed on top of the proper computer. When the other thing didn't work I saw the light. Sheez!Sorry thanks for all your trouble:eek:

That ranks up there with my effort to install an external modem that wasn't plugged in. I rarely try blaming my age, but that will be worth a try next time. :D
