I too got the infamous e-mail about Outlook Express no longer working as of June 30, I currently use Outlook Express on my XP-SP3 Desktop with 3 Hotmail Accounts but use Outlook on My Vista Laptop.

    Questions:
    1. If I change my desktop over to Outlook instead of Outlook Express will I still be able to access the accounts after June 30 via Outlook?

    2. How can I make Outlook open in the Inbox of my primary account - I can't seem to find that anywhere in the Outlook Options and there a search of the help base yields nothing helpful?

    3. I only use the E-mail not the Calendar, etc. so how can I make them not show up when I open Outlook?

    4. Since I use Firefox as my default browser should I just change to the Mozilla E-mail program. To those who have or are using it what are your impressions?

Thanks so much for you help in advance!

I think what you are refering to is that you will not be able to access your Hotmail from OE anymore. OE will still work like it normally does.

And switching to Outlook isn't going to help you with the Hotmail issue.

The infamous e-mail you received should have mentioned switching to Windows Live Mail.

You can also get the Microsoft Office Outlook Connector and have your hotmail accounts in your Outlook.
